Why does Bitcoin add a block about every ten minutes?

If more miners join, blocks would come faster.

So about every two weeks, the network checks its pace.

Too fast? The puzzle gets harder. Too slow? It gets easier.

That keeps it near ten minutes on average.

My little miner? It just keeps trying.
